What to Expect

When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service.  We at Park Animal Hospital and Wellness Center in Denver, Colorado have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet.  We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient.  Call (303) 534-5440 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you.

You will be greeted by our friendly staff & quickly escorted into an examination room.  A veterinary assistant comes in to assess your concerns and the reason for the visit.  One of our experienced veterinarians will gently greet your pet, offer some treats or TLC, and thoroughly examine your pet from head to tail.  The doctor will discuss any concerns and create a customized care plan for your pet.  Our team gently administers medication or vaccinations, or performs any diagnostic tests needed.  We can take payment in the examination room to complete your visit.

Why does my pet need an examination every year? Every pet should have a complete physical examination at least once a year.  Animals age at a more rapid pace than humans.  For a middle age dog or cat, 1 year is equal to 5-7 years in their lifespan.  Skipping an annual examination is like going to your doctor every 15 years or so.  A full examination every year ensures we are monitoring your pet's weight & overall health, assessing the need for any booster vaccinations, and discussing any concerns you may have as a pet parent.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our veterinary hospital.  It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts.  If you have something like this, share it with our team.  If not, let us know everything that you think will be important.

Sick pets may need diagnostic testing, such as blood work or x-rays.  In some cases, we need to refer you and your pet to a Board Certified Veterinary Specialist for advanced veterinary care.
